  • Of the adolescent girls attending the Bansa village center, there are as many as 10 girls, all of them of between 15 to 18 years of age, who have already been either divorced or widowed or separated from their husbands.
  • Over the last two years, center # 1 of Mauthari Village has been witness to as many as 5 of its students getting married.
  • In Barabanki, the Project Area of BETI Foundation covered the traditional loom (weaving) belt of Barabanki district, which has a very low female literacy rate of just 10%. Muslims have had the monopoly over the weaving occupation since the medieval ages.
